Traditional Prayers Part 1

Introduction : When Prayers go up Blessings come down.
In this modern secularized world, we often lose touch with the reality of life. Therefore, man is often in search of the spiritual life. A simple prayer or meditative living can be of some help to achieve this noble goal.
It is said that when prayers go up, blessings come down. Sincere prayer and meditation has healing power when done with deep faith, hope and charity. A praying person is a blessing to society. The world needs more praying men and women than ever before. When the forces of evil multiply, the people of goodwill must devote more time in fasting and prayer in addition to all the hard work in the secular world. Often, people are confused between saying many prayers and living a prayerful life. Saying prayer is easy but living a prayerful life is challenging. A person of prayer finds the loving and the living presence of God everywhere and in everyone. He or she promotes the common good. Prayer can change people. Prayer leads to communion and communication with God and our fellow human beings. Prayer will not bear fruit if there is anger, hatred or resentment towards others.
Often, people asked me why pray and how to pray? There is no simple answer. You can begin with some traditional prayers to grow in the virtues of faith, hope and charity. If you are interested to learn some traditional prayers, follow the blog for the coming weeks. I shall introduce some simple traditional prayers of the Christian tradition.
